Mike’s Bike Park 2023
This year for our December event we did a lock-in at Mike’s bike park. At this event we rode around the park. We also watched many movies and played on old consoles. We did a white elephant gift exchange while we were having a good time at the park.
Catholic Camporee 2023
Every November, Troop 85 does a Catholic retreat called Catholic camporee. This year the camporee included a first aid challenge, leadership games, a vocations panel, Mass, and adoration. Wilderness survival 2023 campout
This October we did a wilderness survival campout at Camp Birch. For breakfast we did wood fire cooking and then we had most of the new scouts earn their totin chit. August 2023 biking campout
This month for our campout we did a bike ride to Young’s Dairy. Lighiting a fire the first night Cooking breakfast One stop on our bike ride We had lunch and spent most of the afternoon at Young’s Dairy and then we all rode all the way back to Angel’s Pass where we were camping.
September 2023 event
For September’s event this year we did a shooting sports and scout themed trivial pursuit game using topics from the scout book. In the morning, we did archery, shotgun and rifles. In the afternoon, we did trivial pursuit which included topics such as fitness, cooking, and tools.
Summer Camp 2023
Summer camp this year was at Camp Friedlander which was a new experience for Troop 85. Camp Friedlander has a scheduled program which meant that we had to register for the merit badges we would work on in advance of camp. Tecumseh Council Camporall
To celebrate its 100th anniversary, Tecumseh Council decided to replace its normal spring campouts with one event: the Camporall. Scouts BSA scouts, Cub Scouts, and Venturers alike were invited to come participate in the activities offered at Clarke County Fairgrounds. Tubing
For this event, a subset of the troop drove to Valley’s Edge for tubing with their families. We spent all afternoon there and had a lot of fun. Not only did we snow tube in smaller groups, we went down a few times as one massive group.
