Troop 85 is a Boy Scout troop chartered to St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church in Beavercreek, Ohio. First chartered in 1959, Troop 85 has operated continuously for almost 50 years. We are part of the Chillicothe District of Tecumseh Council.
Troop 85 is open to all boys who are older than 11 (or who have completed the 5th grade) and who are younger than 18. Boys younger than 11 or who have not yet completed the fifth grade are encouraged to visit Cub Scout Pack 85.
What We Do
Troop 85 has one troop event every month. Many of these events are campouts, but not all – we’ve been backpacking, spelunking, cycling, boating, and skiing. We also have major trips annually. We attend summer camp every year, and in most years we also have a major “high adventure” trip. “High Adventure” trips are longer trips open to older Scouts who have mastered basic Scout skills and are ready for a challenge – these trips have included wilderness canoe expeditions into the Boundary Waters Canoe Area, mountain trekking at Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico, snorkeling and sailing at Seabase in the Florida Keys, winter backpacking in the Great Smoky Mountains, and multi-day bicycle trips across the state of Ohio.
